For the past five years, as I’ve poured my heart into building Anea Hill, I’ve had the privilege of meeting countless moms, especially at shows and events like Round Top, Texas. These women inspire me every day. They’re hustling to make their dreams a reality while navigating the incredible demands of motherhood. As a mompreneur myself, I know firsthand the juggling act it takes to build a business while raising a family. But there’s one thing I hear over and over: mom guilt.

Let’s talk about it.

The Weight of Mom Guilt

Mom guilt can make a mountain look like an anthill, and it’s something many of us carry. We question ourselves constantly: Am I spending enough time with my kids? Am I showing up for them the way they need? Am I selfish for wanting to build something of my own?

I’ve been there. I’ve felt the pull to be at every school event, reply to every email, make a healthy, homemade dinner every night, and still run a successful business. It feels impossible sometimes, doesn’t it? But here’s the truth: God didn’t call us to be perfect moms or flawless business owners. He called us to be faithful.

Faithful Over Perfect

One of my favorite verses is Matthew 6:33: “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” This reminds me that when I prioritize my relationship with God, He equips me to handle the rest.

That doesn’t mean the guilt magically disappears, but it gives me a new perspective. Being a present mom doesn’t mean being physically available 24/7. It means loving your kids deeply, showing them how to follow their passions with faith, and teaching them that it’s okay to work hard for something you believe in.

A Message to the Hustling Moms

To the mom who’s juggling dinner prep while brainstorming business ideas: I see you.
To the mom replying to school emails between client calls: I get it.
To the mom rushing from a pop-up event to make it in time for her child’s performance: You’re doing great.

You’re not failing. You’re showing your kids what resilience, dedication, and faith look like in real life. Yes, there will be days when the balance feels off. But give yourself grace—God does.

The Example We’re Setting

Over these five years, I’ve realized my kids don’t just see me as “busy.” They see me as someone who shows up—at work, at home, and for God. They witness the prayers I say before a big event, the joy in helping a customer find the perfect pair of sunglasses, and the pride I take in being at their school play.

I want them to know that life isn’t about choosing between family and purpose—it’s about integrating the two.

Encouragement for the Journey

Proverbs 31:27 says, “She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” You are that woman. You’re building a business, a family, and a legacy. And God sees every single effort.

Mom guilt doesn’t have to win. Keep hustling, keep loving, and keep seeking Him. You’re doing far better than you think. Remember, God isn’t asking for perfection—just your faithfulness.
